The Computer Engineering (CpE) discipline embodies the science and technology of design, construction, implementation, and maintenance of software and hardware components of computer systems and computer-controlled equipment.

Computer Engineering at the University of Florida brings a core competency and unique value of integrated knowledge in both computer software and hardware; along with the engineering analysis, design, and implementation skills necessary to strike a balance among computer systems, hardware, and software as well as theory and application. Studies in Computer Engineering integrate fields from both Computer Science (CS) and Electrical Engineering (EE).

At the University of Florida, the undergraduate CpE program is jointly administered by the Department of Computer and Information Science and Engineering (CISE) and the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE).

Admissions

Prospective CpE students fall into three categories:

  • First-year students
  • Transfer students
  • Students changing their major to CpE
  • Curriculum
